Sub-tropical Wildlife Bonanza (Shivapuri-Pokhara-Chitwan)
Day One  
Meet at the airport with garland. Drive 15 minutes to Park Village Resort, an eco-friendly hotel on the foothill of Shivapuri National Park.  
Welcome Drink.   Check-in to suite rooms with wide verandah.
Refresh and rest
1.00 pm
Lunch at hotel’s Earthwatch restaurant overlooking Shivapuri National Park. Stroll and watch birds in the hotel garden spread over 6 acres of jungle with lots of flowering plants, birds and butterflies.
6.00 pm Power point presentation: Orientation on Nepal at a glance by eminent naturalists.
7.00 pm Open-air barbeque dinner and overnight at Park Village Hotel
Day Two  
6.30 am Farmhouse breakfast

Hike to Shivapuri National Park led by country’s renowned ornithologist Mr. Hari Sharan ‘Kazi’ whose 650 species of rare birds are displayed at Natural History Museum. Climb up from entrance gate towards Nagi Gompa, a Buddhist monastery. On the way we stop for birding at Pani Muhan, which is a drinking water reservoir of the Shivapuri watershed area.  It is an excellent place to watch birds including fork tails, redstarts, kingfishers, white-crested laughing thrush, rusty-cheeked scimitar babbler etc. Main vegetation consists of Alder woods, Schima-Castanopsis forest with frequent autumn flowering cherry, and shrub with wild yellow raspberry, barberry, Gaultheria, Luculia etc. Visit to park visitor center. Briefing on park system.
12.00 noon
Lunch at Nagi Gompa from where one can have a magnificent view of three queen cities. After lunch we climb towards Deurali. Vegetation is composed of mixed Oak-Laurel forest, frequent rhododendron with lots of orchids including Coelogyne, Pleione etc.  Twenty percent of country’s orchids are found in Shivapuri Range. On the way possible sightings of mammals are barking deer, wild boar, Himalayan black bear, yellow-throated marten, flying squirrel including many birds such as kalij pheasant, common hill partridge, booted eagle, black eagle, Steppe eagle, crested serpent eagle, laughing thrushes, sunbirds, tits, oriental white eye etc. From Deurali we return to Nagi Monastery to join the evening prayer where nuns perform rituals and chant hymns. Participation in this evening prayer provides unforgettable spiritual experience. Then proceed to Park Village hotel and resort.
6.00 pm Dinner and overnight at Park Village Hotel and Resort
Day Three  
Depart by private coach to Pokhara. This group is led by Nepal’s leading wetland bird specialist Rajendra Suwal who contribution to crane conservation is well acknowledged. Stop at Riverside Springs Resort for lunch. On the way we stop at Trishuli River by Belkhu to check for ibisbill, wall creeper, brown dipper and other birds.
Check in at Pokhara View Garden Hotel, a quintessential hotel with large room overlooking Himalaya.
3.00 pm
Boating in upstream Fewa Lake to observe wintering ducks, grebes and other waders. Forest surrounding this lake harbor green magpie, lesser-racquet tailed drongo. This is also an exciting place to study aquatic fauna.
6.00 pm Briefing on nature and culture of Pokhara Valley
6.30 pm Cultural program to have an inside observation of Nepalese ethnic groups.
7.30 pm Thakali Dinner at Pokhara View Garden Hotel
Day Four  
6.00 am Full Nepali Breakfast/puri, tarkari, jilebi, eggs, milk, fruits and tea/coffee
7.00 am
Drive to Naudanda to see magnificent birds of prey including Lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, King Vulture, Eagles and Falcon, hawks, buzzards and other brightly colored forest birds. Naudanda is a breathtaking place to see soaring birds in the backdrop of snow-capped mountain. All four species of fork tails are to be found in the cascading streams.
11.00 am Lunch at Pokhara View Garden
1.00 pm Depart for Chitwan. The journey is about 5 hours through Mahabharat Hills and Inner Terai plains.
Check in at Maruni Sanctuary Lodge at Sauraha in Royal Chitwan National Park,
6.30 pm Briefing on the Chitwan National Park followed by reception cocktail and elaborate Tharu dinner.
7.30 pm Dinner and overnight at Maruni Sanctuary Lodge
Day Five  
6.30 am 
Full American Breakfast
Bird watching along the trail from Rapti River to Charahara. Stop for hygienic vegetarian picnic lunch in the jungle. Return from Bhawanipur and Jay Mangala to see magnificent birds such as orange-breasted green pigeon, emerald dove, green pigeon, giant hornbill, peafowl, including endangered Bengal florican, etc.
2.00 pm Return to lodge. Refreshment
3.00 pm
Elephant safari in the riverine forest looking for rhino, deer, elusive tiger and leopard and birds including Himalayan flameback, gray capped woodpecker, pied hornbill, plum-headed parakeet, brown hawk owl etc.
6.30 pm Tharu Cultural Dance
7.30 pm Dinner and overnight at Maruni Sanctuary Lodge
Day Six  
6.30 am Breakfast
7.00 am
Morning drive to Ramsar site Bees Hazar Lake, a wetland of international importance. This is a fascinating place for all kinds of wildlife including  rhinos, deer, and birds including gray headed fishing eagle, crested serpent eagle, oriental darter, black ibis) and marsh crocodile.
Proceed to Kathmandu. Check into Maya Manor, a writer’s house and boutique hotel.
Debriefing of the entire tour with leading naturalist followed by farewell dinner
Day Seven  
6.30 am Breakfast
7.00 am
Join enchanting Medieval Heritage Walk (approximately 3 hours) and shopping in Kathmandu if time permits
